Fall In Love With Koombana Bay

15 Dec 2016

Koombana Bay in Bunbury is one of those places people tend to fall in love with. For Mr. and Mrs. Sanderson, it was the love of a holiday by the water with family, chasing crabs, out fishing in their small boat, and making lifelong friends.

One year passes and another draws closer, rebooking into their favourite cabin, perfect for the whole family and big enough for everything the family loves.

Their first few years at Koombana Bay were quite different with only caravan and camping sites available. Over time, the industry developed and Discovery Parks took over ownership. We introduced brand new facilities and cabins - and now the grandchildren are kept busy playing in the pool, bouncing on the jumping pillow and riding the pedal karts!

With more people coming and going each year they have maintained one true and lasting friendship with the Whyte family. Perched on their powered ensuite site, the two clans are often seen relaxing around a BBQ and enjoying a cool holiday drink.

Now in his sixties, Mr. Sanderson spends most of his days farming with his nephew in Kalannie. His wife and family have rebooked Discovery Parks – Koombana Bay for their 21st year in a row (and we are so excited to welcome them back!).

Mr. and Mrs. Sanderson’s story is not uncommon in the holiday park world, with many guests coming back year after year to their favourite parks and sharing memories dating back generations. 20 years on and they still love Koombana Bay for the exact same reasons.
