Embrace Winter at your Favourite Summer Holiday Park

Posted by Discovery Parks on 14 Jun 2017

Every year, you and your family return each summer to your favourite destination. Who says you can't enjoy the same place twice? You can count on the kids activities program, the fantastic facilities, nearby beaches and attractions and other families that you've made friends with over a BBQ.

In winter, these holiday parks are just as fun. Discover your favourite place through fresh eyes. Your summer playground transforms into a winter warmer, set to surprise and delight you.

No need to spend the whole year dreaming of summer. Embrace winter and book your cabin stay at your favourite summer holiday park.

PARK ACTIVITIES

Sometimes it feels like kids have a never-ending source of energy, which can be both exciting and exhausting. On holiday, you want to be able to spend some quality time with the youngsters that can be so fleeting during the school year. After exploring the sights around the holiday park, it's normal to feel like you need a break. You work hard, too! By staying at your favourite holiday park during winter, your children can stay active and make new friends during our school holidays programs. From craft mornings to face painting, Discovery Parks keeps your kids entertained while you can take an hour or so to rest.

NORTHERN AUSTRALIA

While you love your park in the summer, there is something to be said for the ease of the dry season. While the wet season offers mesmerising waterfalls, mangoes and different wildlife, the dry season's mild days make a holiday more enjoyable. Enjoy the warm days and cooler evenings in tropical Queensland or taking your 4WD to waterfalls in Western Australia that can only be accessed this time of year. Northern Australia during winter is an absolute treat!

OUTDOOR EXPLORING

Have you ever stepped outside of your lovely air-conditioning onto your door step and thought "this is what living on the sun must be like". It's Australia, of course you have! Summer heat can be scorching and at times too dangerous to stay outside for long. If you love getting back into our park pool during summer, you'll love going out for a walk or cycling the tracks nearby instead. With the more mild temperatures, you won't feel the need to be cooped up in your air-conditioning. A bit of rain can't stop ya if it comes. Winter encourages you to get up and get moving, appreciating all of what you can do while on holiday.

SNUG AS A BUG IN A RUG

Camping can be fun and all, but the hassle of pitching a tent or walking to the amenities in the cold can be a pain. With a cabin as your base, you can have your own space shielded from the elements. Many of our cabins are self-contained, so say hello to cooking up your Sunday roast and watching a movie on TV while wrapped up in a blanket. A holiday doesn't have to be about roughing it. It's about being comfortable and well-rested for the next day.

BEAUTY OF THE BEACH

The beach is symbolic of summer in Australia. We have some of the world's most envious spotswith sparkling blue waters, white sand beaches and even whale watching. Mid-year, Hervey Bay, Warrnambool, Pambula Beach and Eden are charmed by the visiting humpback and southern right whales that grace their waters (including the babies). If you're on the Apple Isle, an hour outside of Devonport is Boat Harbour Beach. Rated as one of the top 10 beaches in Australia, the views of clear water surrounded by the rocky headlands will help you fall deeper in love with Tasmania.

EVENTS

It's not just about being cosy at the holiday park. During winter, our parks are nearby some excellent events across the country. In Tasmania, the winter solstice festival Dark Mofo in Hobart attracts international performers and the August Whisky Week warms up bellies across the state. Sway to the blues at the Winter Blues Festival in Echuca-Moama. Uncover Hidden Treasures during the Winter Music Series in Fremantle. Experience the food truck fiesta presented by Discovery Parks - Maidens Inn, Moama during Feast on the Murray. There's so much happening around Australia to entertain you this winter.

Discover the delights of a winter holiday with one of our Winter Warmer Deals. From in-park activities for the kids to seasonal, local events, experience the rewards of visiting your favourite summer spot during winter.
